Today is Saturday and therefore a kennel day.

This is me with Rosie.  She is a 2 year old Husky and absolutely gorgeous.

Busy, busy, day today. It was Simon's day off and we spent a good few hours at the kennels.  We took Lily to the vet to have her skin checked.  She has a zinc deficiency and is on medication.

This is her having a game in the paddock with a strange trampy looking man!

I am not sure if I have mentioned here or not that one of my plans for this year is to try a new craft each month.  The month of January is knitting.  I am a novice!  Today's photo is an 8 inch knitted square! Completed this afternoon.

If you would like to know more about this knitting challenge and how I am progressing then please click on the Fabrilushus  tab at the top of the home page. Hints and tips welcomed.

Well  it has been a busy day today as I have Jessica to look after on  Wednesdays.  I get quite worn out even though she is a little angel.   So today my post is short and sweet.

This little hanging heart was made especially for a lady in Merika.

Today has been a busy day.  I have begun the process of getting my house back to normal now that Christmas and New Year are behind us.  It always seems to get in such a mess when Simon is off school.  Plus of course we had visitors and things were let go a bit.

I am pleased to say that I made good progress today and most things are now in their rightful places and I am pretty much clean and tidy.  I even went  to Tesco's and did the weekly shop.

However that all left me feeling pretty tired and I have only just thought about my photo 365.  So....... I am about to show you the most rubbish photo ever!

It shows 5 ceramic bones that hang on my bedroom wall. One each for Buick, Sandy, Rosie, Allfie and Loulou.  They are a sort of heather, lilac kind of colour on gold ribbons.  They were made for me by a fellow Etsian, the very talented Marieanne of Damson Tree Pottery.

I am still trying to find the time to wade through the manual that came with my camera.  If I can keep up this Photo 365, hopefully as the weeks and months pass I will be able to share increasingly better photos with you.  This time next year I hope I will be able to look through all my photos and say, "yes, I have improved"!  Hopefully.

Well things should have been getting back to normal today as Simon is back to school and Christmas and New Year are behind us.  However the children do not return to school until tomorrow so today I had my 2 best girlies.

As you can see some drawing was in order for part of the time.  They did "thank yous" so we got through  a fair number of envelopes!  They are such good girlies.

Tomorrow I really will be back to normal.   A post Christmas MEGA tidy and clean up is the order of the day!

Not the best day today.  We spent a few hours at the doggie rescue kennels this morning and made the discovery that quite a lot of the dogs had wet bedding.   Everyone was incredibly upset.  Three Counties do not own the kennels.  It is a private boarding kennel. This should have been noticed. Three Counties do supply the bedding for them to use for the rescue dogs.  We are incredibly short of bedding right now so I have spent most of this afternoon appealing to anybody I possibly can for quilts and blankets.

It was even more upsetting coming home to Loulou who has a warm house and clean dry bedding. So wish that we could do more. Today's photo (which was taken today despite it appearing to be a Christmas shot!) is of Loulou opening the last one of  her Christmas presents.

Someone asked the other day about the tumour on her ear.  It has been this size for over a year.  It is not operable at her age.  It is not growing and it does not bother her in anyway.

Saturday.......means it's kennel day. For over 18 months now we have spent every Saturday helping at the Three Counties Dog Rescue.  Even when the weather is foul which it certainly was today.

This is Tess she is one of Simon's favourites.  I admit to a soft spot for her too.  She is a Rottweiler.  She is around 4 and has been at the rescue for most of her life.  She is very loving and adores Simon.   You can check out Tess and her friends here.
