String of dog-napping attempts prompts warning - Local - Peterborough Telegraph
Please, please be very careful when walking your dog. Do not go out alone to walk in isolated areas. These people are sick. There have now been quite a few attacks in the Peterborough area.
One man was badly beaten up this week when he tried to protect his dog.
Please be on your guard and pray that these bastards are caught soon. What kind of a world do we live in? Makes me so sad.

Last lot for now and other news..
You can breathe a sigh of relief as this is the last lot for now. I am working on things so there will be more to show next week.
My Dad asked me to make a cushion for his brother, my Uncle Derek. This is what I came up with. It is all made from scraps.
Last time I went to the fabric warehouse in Leicester I got a printed panel in lemon and green with baby pictures printed on. They have a huge selection of these pre-printed panels and some of them are lovely. They don't cost much either so I couldn't resist.
The idea is that you layer them with some wadding and backing and then just quilt how you like. It seems a bit like cheating in a way as there is no cutting and piecing. Anyway, it was quite large so I cut off some of the panels and I have used them to make yet another wall hanging.
I love this design and have now made it 4 times. It is incredible how different they all look with the different colours and embellishments. This one is for a baby's room and I think it has turned out quite well. I have used buttons rather than beads on here.
The rest of the panel I am in the process of quilting and it is going to be a play mat.
You will notice that there are 2 baby items there. A wall hanging and a play mat. Do you remember that I said a few weeks back that I had a secret? Some of you know it already but for those of you that don't the cat is now out of the bag............... we have grandchild number 5 on the way.
Verity and Steve are expecting their first baby. It is due on the 18th of March. We are all incredibly excited. These are the first photos of Baby Youngs.
This is at the embryo stage, approximately 10 days.
This is at 7 weeks.
She has, of course, since had her 12 week scan but I am still waiting on those pictures. All is progressing well but as some of you know this has been a very long and hard journey so we would very much appreciate your prayers, good wishes, positive thoughts etc...

So long and thanks for all the fish.
Copy as posted to Blogster and Ipernity this afternoon. Enough is enough.
OK,
time to call it a day with all these different blog sites. I am very
busy. I am doing lots and lots of sewing and other craft stuff. I am
doing a lot of cooking and then there is all the normal house work. I
am also now helping once a week at the dog rescue place. I do not
have enough hours in the day to do all that I want.
I
have tried to keep all the various sites updated. Today I have
copied and pasted about 6 different blogs to two different places. I
haven't got time for this. I wish that I could set things up so they
would just post to both places as in Blogger and Multiply. I post to
Blogger and it cross posts it to Multiply. Brilliant. I don't even
have to go to Multiply. This will not work for Blogster and
Ipernity.
I
am finding Blogster to be a nightmare. When you copy and paste it
leaves huge great gaps right in the middle of the blog and I have to
go in and delete lines to try to eliminate this. Sometimes it works
sometimes it doesn't. It does mess up the overall look though. It
is a friendly place but I am not happy there.
The
same goes for Ipernity. I cannot cross post. Again, I am not
altogether happy with the set up there. I have only continued with
the copy and past game because I have friends I do not wish to lose.
I have Pam and Eileen on Blogster and Sue, Mickey and Jenny on
Ipernity.
I'm
sorry folks but I cannot keep up with this. I have to stop. Blogger
is my home. I know some of you do not like it and it certainly is
quite a learning curve but once you take the trouble to learn it,
well it does everything Multiply did and a lot it does better. It
has been around a long time so I doubt that it will be going tits up
any time soon.
I
really do not want to lose contact but you all have my email address
and my postal address and most of you are on Face book too. I shall
try to email you every month or so .
In
the mean time, I wish you all well. Play nicely in the play ground.
Oh,
I forgot to say that I am still reading the blogs of Sue, Mickey and
Jenny because the RSS feed works from Ipernity and I can read them in
Google reader. Sadly the RSS is yet one more thing that doers not
work on Blogster.
If
you want to keep up and read mine you could do the same. Go to my
Blogger , sign up for the feed and hey presto. Or there is a link
on my home page for you to sign up for my blogs to be emailed to you.
That might work if anyone is interested.
Old photos and memories.
This week is flying by, Thursday already. It is cold here today. I have had to put the heating on. I had a hot water bottle in bed last night. Ridiculous, it is only September. Actually September is flying too. In just 2 days time we will be half way through the month and we will have been in this house for 9 months.
I have spent the day so far going through old photo albums to scan in some photos for the scrap book that I am doing of my Mums life. I have the albums which my Dad gave me but I am thinking that there are some missing. There seems to be a big gap between the mid sixties and early eighties. I am sure they must have taken photos in that time. Also their wedding album is not here either. I am sure they had one. All I have is one photo of them and one of their cake which were in an album. Must ask my Dad about this.
It is lovely to look at all the old photos. Brings back so many memories. Things that I thought I had forgotten, I can recall in detail when I see the photos. Anyway, I thought I would show you some. The bigger girl in these photos is my sister Julie.
First some of me. I am 10 weeks old here.
Finally here is one of my Mum and Dad taken in 1954. About a ear after they were married and before they had any children. Care free days!!!

This is my Christening.
I was so cute! Here are some more where I am 8 months old.
I just love that pram. Silver Cross with full suspension. I wish they still made them like that. Modern buggies just do not compare.
I am between 2 and 3 years in these ones.
And a few from when I was a bit older, maybe 4 or 5.

And more........
Yep, there is more! Brooches to be precise. You are going to be so bored by the time that I finish this! I don't care though as it forms a good record for me to look back on.
I have been making what I call flower and button brooches from felt for quite a while and they are selling reasonably well on Ebay. However I have not sold a single one on Coralie's Etsy. Does anyone ever buy from Etsy? I just use it to get ideas.
Anyway, here are some of my latest flower brooches. I have quite a few in stock so haven't made many of these.
Simon got me a Sizzix Big shot machine in the holidays. For those not in the know, it is a die cutting machine which means you can cut shapes very precisely with little effort and up to 8 layers at a time depending on the thickness of the fabric. It is brilliant. I do not have many dies yet but I do have a heart shaped one that cuts 3 different heart shapes at one time. I can layer the fabrics that I want so can cut really quickly.
One day last week my mind turned to heart shaped brooches! So, I have made a gazillion. Well about 16 actually! I have listed them on Ebay to see if they do better than the flowers. I am not really too bothered if they sell or not as I want to build up a stock of small inexpensive items so that I can have a craft stand at the dog show next year to raise money for them.
They only had a cake stall and a bric a brac and I think crafts will sell well. Especially if I can make things with a doggie link. There is a lot of dog print fabric around right now so that might work. In fact I made a couple of the heart brooches in dog fabric.
Well I still have more to "Show and tell" but I shall save it for another blog since this one was so long!
